Ogilvy & Mather was honoured at the 53rd Annual Clio Awards in multiple categories recognising outstanding work and creative achievements.
Of interest to India, the Clios named longtime executive chairman of advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather India, Piyush Pandey, as the recepient of the Clio Lifetime Achievement Award. Pandey is the first Asian recipient of the award.
CLIO bestows its annual Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of "outstanding and ongoing contribution by an individual who leads the industry forward."
In presenting the award to Pandey, Ogilvy & Mather Chairman Shelly Lazarus said, "Over his 30 year career, Piyush has won over 600 awards and is known in his native India as the 'godfather' of modern advertising. My favourite thing about Piyush is that he doesn't think of advertising as a job. As he says, 'When you're having so much fun, how can you call it work?' Congratulations to my long-time friend and collaborator on such a well-deserved achievement."
The ceremony was attended by Piyush's family, including his brother Prasoon, Madhukar Parekh from Fevicol, Ashok Dhingra, who, as marketing head of Perfetti had worked closely with Pandey, Bharat Puri from Cadbury, and a large group of colleagues from Ogilvy Worldwide including Miles Young, Khai Tham, Shelly Lazarus and her husband George.
