Shimberg is an experienced practitioner in the areas of corporate and commercial law, taxation, estate planning, probate, bankruptcy and domestic relations. Mr. Shimberg received his Juris Doctor degree with High Honors from Illinois institute of Technology - Chicago Kent College of Law in 1974. While in school he received American Jurisprudence prizes in Contracts and Conflicts of Laws. As past secretary and vice-chair of the Family Law Council of the Illinois State Bar Association, he assisted in the drafting and review of proposed legislation in all family-law related areas, including marriage, divorce and domestic violence. He has taught Legal Research and Writing, Civil Litigation and Domestic Relations in the Legal Assistant Program at Roosevelt University. He has contributed to a publication of Lawyers Cooperative Publishing Company on Illinois Legal Forms. He is the incoming chair of the Solo and Small Firm Committee of the Chicago Bar Association.
